Message Is it possible to run 15 psi and not have detonation. Of course. The problem is that at 15 psi, there will be many more situations where you'll likely have detonation that you wouldn't at 14 psi. If you get that bad tank of gas or if the temperature is extra cold and you're pulling a lot more air mass in.

There has been a lot of talk in the past about maximum boost for stock turbos and the general consensus has been 16psi, but not with stock injectors.

With older style injectors (90-94), you do not want to go more than 90% duty in the worst cases. That means that if you're at sea level on a nice summer day and your injector duty is 85% at WOT at *some* point in the RPM range(most likely near the top), then you're probably safe, but don't go more than that.

You can figure out how hard your injectors are working by using the following:

duty cycle % = ms * RPM / 1200

Get a consult or conzult and do some WOT runs to redline in 3rd(2nd if you can't find a place to hit just over 100 MPH).

Take the millsecond times for each RPM reported and plug it into the above. If you go beyond 90%, you're in trouble because the pintle style injectors max out at 90%. The 95+ style can stay open to 100% meaning they can be kept open, but you have to have a 95+ or have upgraded injectors which is a lot of work.
